After a new nurse arrives at a sanitarium she discovers that the patients are running the hospital; a young man with a hook replacing his hand is released from a mental hospital and goes on a murderous rampage; on Christmas Eve, a series of murders occurnear an abandoned mental hospital that was the site of a massacre many years earlier; after a jazz pianist witnesses the murder of a psychic, he enlists the help of an investigative reporter to solve the crime; after several people trapped in a cave cut off someone's arm for food, they are rescued and the one-armed man vows revenge for their actions.
