Dash Trim Kit Installation Guidelines
CAUTION:
1 Before Installation:
Before peeling off the red plastic from the back of each dash kit piece you must check the kit by putting it against your dashboard to make sure it fits. If anything doesn't match - STOP the installation and contact the retailer who ordered the dash kit. Please avoid direct skin contact or prolonged exposure with any chemical agents when working with the kit.
2 During Installation: Do not apply alcohol or promoter on to the dash board area where the dash trim pieces will not be overlaid. Do not apply alcohol or promoter on to the finished surface of the dash trim pieces. Use Adhesive Promoter wisely as it dries very quickly. Do not overheat the dash trim pieces. If it is warm outside, leave the dash kit outside for one minute to make it flexible.
6 EASY STEPS TO INSTALL YOUR DASH TRIM KIT
Step 1
Put the latex glove on your hand before cleaning the surface. Clean the surface inside your vehicle with the alcohol pads provided. The surface must be clean from oils and grease, for the dash trim pieces to properly adhere on the dashboard.
Note: IF YOU HAVE ANY ARMOR ALL ON THE DASHBOARD, THE DASH TRIM PIECES WILL NOT STICK. YOU MAY HAVE TO BUY ADDITIONAL ALCHOLOL TO CLEAN YOUR DASHBOARD THROUGHLY. BEFORE INSTALLING THE DASH TRIM KIT OR APPLYING PROMOTER, TAKE YOUR FINGER AND SLIDE IT ON THE DASHBOARD. IF IT FEELS OILY YOU MUST KEEP CLEANING IT. IT MUST BE A DRY AND ROUGH SURFACE.
Step 2
Carefully open and apply the adhesive promoter applicator (provided with your kit) to the surfaces of the dash board of your car where the pieces will over lay. Once you open the promoter, go through all the areas very quickly. You'll have less then one minute before each packet is dried up, so use it wisely. Take the glove off and dispose it. Let the promoter dry for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Make sure your hands are clean from alcohol and promoter. If you have any chemicals on your hands it will stain the surface of the dash trim kit. Warm up both dash trim pieces with the hair dryer or you can leave it in the sun for one minute. This step is not necessary, however we recommend it because it will make the trim pieces more flexible and it will be easier to install.
Step 4
Before removing the protective cover from the back of the trim pieces. Line each piece to the dash board and note the best way to overlay it so it fits perfectly the first time. The dash trim pieces are installed just like stickers. Once you are ready to install the first piece, turn the piece around, peel all of the adhesive protection cover from the back of the dash trim piece. Line up the piece to the dash without actually applying it. You can either stick trim piece right on the dash board or if it is a large piece, you might want to start applying one of the corners first and work your way towards the other corner. Adhere the dash trim pieces to the dash panel very slowly and DO NOT PRESS THE DASH TRIM PIECE.
Step 5
If you are happy with the way the dash trim piece is installed, you can then press on it. Make sure all the edges are sticking to the dash board. If for some reason you can't get a corner to stick, use crazy glue on that corner. Note: DO NOT OVERHEAT THE DASHBOARD.
Step 6
Clean the dash trim with furniture polish and a cotton towel to get rid of any finger prints or tackiness on the surface. If you need to rid of any promoter stains from the surface or need more supplies to finish the installation please contact the retailer you purchased the dash trim from.
