Directed by Anthony Asquith, the silent melodrama and thriller A Cottage on Dartmoor explores the disturbing aspects of jealousy and crimes of passion. The movie narrates the story of Joe (Henning), a barber consumed by his passion for his girlfriend Sally (Baring), a manicurist. When Sally ends up paying too much attention to one of her customers, Harry (Schettow), the intensity of Joe's obsession pushes him to slit the man's throat.
