A teenaged girl (Tamblyn) finds herself approached week after week by all sorts of different people - each claiming to be God delivering instructions for her next mission. A surprisingly strong cast and interesting writing make this offbeat television series quite involving and absorbing. Joan's police-chief father (Mantegna) and distracted mother (Steenburgen) know nothing about their daughter's odd plight, nor do her siblings or classmates, and the girl grapples alone with what may be encroaching insanity as she fulfills her mysterious assignments. The entire second season of this remarkable weekly drama appears in this compilation.
