Idealism collides with complex realities in this wise and funny documentary. Amid the fallout from the Iraq War, actor Liev Schreiber spots a heart-tugging news story about Muthana Mohmed, an Iraqi film student. His school was bombed and Schreiber decides to give Mohmed a break, inviting him to work on the set of his first feature, Everything is Illuminated. But things don't go according to plan as the filmmakers' do-gooder tendencies backfire, and Mohmed is left hanging in the lurch.
