A ten-year-old boy struggles after his parents' divorce, but when his class writes letters to US troops, he receives a reply back from a sergeant and the two form a bond; when a couple's marriage is strained due to their inability to conceive a child, they decide to go on a vacation where they spend a week in a small Mexican town and witness a miracle that helps them to gain a more positive outlook on life; a teenage boy tries to complete a four-mile race in honor of his best friend who was a track star tragically killed in an accident; a student takes a job as a nanny for a widowed father and finds herself falling in love with him.
